TVL Group’s Managing Director named IAATI UK President

Laura Moran, Managing Director of TVL Group, has been named the new President of the UK branch of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI) UK at the organisation’s 2025 Vehicle Crime Conference, held at the Henry Ford Academy, in Daventry.

In her new role, Moran will oversee IAATI UK’s strategic direction, working to strengthen collaboration between stakeholders, promote best practices in crime prevention, and support the development of new approaches to tackling vehicle-related offences.

Speaking on her appointment, she says: “IAATI UK plays a vital role in uniting those working to reduce vehicle crime. As part of my work at TVL Group, I’ve seen firsthand how targeted theft of vans and tools continues to impact tradespeople and businesses. This is a sector that demands constant innovation and cooperation, and I look forward to contributing to its progress.

“The scale and complexity of offences we’re seeing today demand a more coordinated response, and the organisation is well placed to support that through knowledge sharing, training and collaboration across sectors. Jointly, our focus remains on developing practical solutions and working with partners to reduce risk and improve resilience.”

Moran brings over three decades of experience in the automotive and commercial vehicle sectors, including senior roles at Hertz, Copart UK and Avis. Since joining TVL Group as Managing Director in 2020, she has led the company’s response to the rising threat of van and tool theft, overseeing the development of award-winning targeted security solutions, as well as collaborating with law enforcement and insurers.

Her work has also helped shape TVL Group’s approach to crime prevention, which today includes education and outreach initiatives to support tradespeople and fleet operators across the UK, in addition to the business’ ongoing product development and manufacturer relationships.

Moran has also overseen the development of Tell TVL, a reporting platform designed to capture real-world incidents of van and tool theft directly from tradespeople and fleet operators. The programme – which holds accreditation from the police’s official security initiative, Secured by Design (SBD) – has helped build a clearer picture of how and where thefts are occurring, informing product development and enabling more targeted collaboration with police forces and insurers.

She succeeds Paul Harrison, Technical Specialist at the Defence, Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), as IAATI UK President.
